Transcribing dictations for MediNotes e™ EMR and documenting notes for internal medicine and multi-specialty practices
Our web-based service is now offered to healthcare facilties using the MediNotes e™ EMR. The transcription service is available for different specialties that maintain electronic medical records using this application. We are providing the transcription support to a center for internal medicine in Arizona, and a multi-specialty practice in Minniapolis for the MediNotes e™ EMR application that is in use by these two centers.
Insufficeny of skilled medical transcribers for MediNotes e™ EMR
Both of these facilities at one point in time had issues hiring in-house medical transcribers. There was an accute shortage of skilled labour and the few that were available were either too old or were not internet savvy, thier skills were limited to documenting the records on paper, and electronic medical records was something that they were not familiar with.
Local transcription company took 36 hour turn-around-time
The clinics hired local medical transcription companies that were provided with telephone access to the dictations of the physicians, the digital voice recordings were accessed by the transcriptionist of the company, and after documenting the reports they were scanned and made available to the physicians within the MediNotes e™ EMR.
The physicians were able to access the documented reports after 36 hours of patient encounter, the vendor took 24 hours to document them and another 12 hours to post them into the health-facilities EMR. This impeded quality care of the patients, delaying the medication processes prescribed by the physicians
